Replacing the alternator drive belt

The alternator drive poly V-belt is replaced under the following circumstances:

• when contaminated with coolant or oil;
• when there is a noise of slipping of the belt, due to its oiling or stretching (elongation);
• in the formation of cracks and brittleness;
• when the frame and individual strands break;
• when loosening and wear of the side surfaces.

Note. If the drive belt is to be used in the future, then it is necessary to note the direction of its movement and install it again in the same direction.

The alternator drive belt must be replaced in the following order. Prepare fixture «11.3.340». Loosen the tension of the alternator drive belt, for which carefully and slowly press the drive belt tensioner until it stops with the help of an end shoe «Torx» and fix it with the tool «11.3.340» (pin). Remove drive belt.

When installing the belt, make sure that it fits snugly into the grooves (streams) pulleys (pic. 5.90).



After installing the belt, remove the tool «11.3.340». The tension force of the roller is not adjustable, it will automatically set the required tension force of the generator drive belt. Check the correct position of the drive belt on the pulleys.
