Attention! To avoid burns, all work on the replacement of the exhaust pipe should be carried out on a cold engine.
Replacing the catalytic converter with exhaust pipe (4, see fig. 6.19) must be done in the following order.
Loosen the bolts and remove the accessory protection panel. Loosen the screw connection of the exhaust system between the connecting pipe and the turbocharger (TC), between the connecting pipe (1) and neutralizer (4). Remove the connecting pipe.
Remove clutch (10) catalytic converter and exhaust pipe connections (10) with rear mufflers (11, 12).
Installation of a converter with an exhaust pipe (4) should be carried out in the reverse order, while tightening the bolts of the connection of the TC and the branch pipe with a torque of 42 Nm (4.2 kgf·m), and the branch pipe and the converter with a moment of 30 N·m (3.0 kgf·m). Tighten coupling bolts to.. Nm (.. kgf·m). The butt joint must be located in the center of the coupling. When installing couplings, the heads of their bolts must be turned towards the bottom of the body, with the nuts down.
Converter replacement
Attention! All work on the exhaust system must only be carried out with a cold engine and a cold exhaust system.
Replacement of the converter (without pipelines) exhaust system must be carried out in the following order.
Remove exhaust system assembly and measure length «IN» (pic. 6.160) pipe element of the new converter (1) OG.
Received size value «IN» transfer to the pipelines of the removed exhaust system (pic. 6.161), and mark these places with a marker or bench scriber.
Cut with a hacksaw or tool «00.2.210» both exhaust pipes at the marked location between the old exhaust gas converter and both rear mufflers. Round off the sharp edges of the cuts with a file.
Remove the completely self-adhesive film from the openings of the new converter. Connect the new catalytic converter to both pipes of the rear exhaust silencers using couplings. The butt joint must be located in the center of the coupling.
Position the exhaust system so that it is at least 25 mm from the bodywork and at a sufficient distance from neighboring parts.
