Attention! All work carried out on the fuel system of the engine is a fire hazard and requires compliance with increased safety measures.
Replacing the fuel filter of a gasoline engine does not cause difficulties, the frequency of its replacement is 40,000 km of the vehicle, depending on the operating conditions and fuel quality, it is recommended to change it.
To replace the filter, place the car on a flat area, preferably on a lift, overpass or inspection hole and tighten the parking brake. Protect the alternator and depressurize the fuel system by removing the alternator pressure regulator. The fuel filter is located below, on the right side member in the area of the rear passenger seats and is connected to the pipelines using clamps. Pinch the inlet and outlet hoses with the help of tools (pic. 2.42), remove the fuel line clamps on the filter and disconnect the filter from the mounting clamps on the side member.
Send the collected fuel for recycling. When installing a new filter, make sure that the arrow on its housing indicates the direction of fuel flow towards the engine.
It is recommended to change the fuel filter of a diesel engine every 20,000-30,000 km of the vehicle run, depending on the operating conditions and fuel quality, it is recommended to change it more often. Filter replacement should be carried out in the following order. Turn off the ignition, protect the generator, disconnect the loop (2, fig. 2.43), unscrew the bolt (1) and remove the sensor (W) fuel filter assembly pressure.
Loosen the clamps (4) and disconnect the fuel lines. Remove bolt (5) and remove the knot (6) fuel filter.
Installation of a new fuel filter should be carried out in the reverse order, while checking the sealing ring on the sensor (3) pressure and, if necessary, replace it.
Remove air from the power system by turning on the ignition for about one minute. This will start the fuel priming pump, and the fuel cooler is filled with fuel, displacing air.
