Engines and transmission
Operation of the car after the acquisition or repair of its main components (engine, gearbox, rear axle gearbox) it is necessary to start with a break-in at the first 2,000 km of run. At the same time, the rotational speed of the motor shaft (turns) and the speed of the vehicle must not exceed the values given below:
- vehicles with petrol engines:
- 6-cylinder: 4500 min-1, 160 km/h;
- 8-cylinder: 4500 min-1, 170 km/h.
- vehicles with diesel engines: 3500 min-1, 150 km/h.
Full power and maximum acceleration modes should be avoided. After driving 2,000 km, you can gradually increase the speed and engine speed.
Optimum road grip is achieved by new tires only after a run of about 300 km, and new brake discs and pads achieve maximum braking efficiency after a run of 500 km.
