Models with M60 engine
1. Lower the coolant (see Section Coolant replacement Chapters Vehicle settings and routine maintenance).
2. Remove the vibration damper (see chapter Engine).
3. If necessary, disconnect the additional air supply pipes (see chapter Power supply and exhaust systems).
4. Turn out bolts of fastening and remove a pulley.
5. Remove the branch pipe of the cooling system between the expansion tank and the water pump.
6. Disconnect the cooling system pipe from the thermostat housing cover, remove the thermostat housing cover and the thermostat itself (see Section Removal and installation of the thermostat).
7. Turn out bolts and remove the water pump.
8. When installing, check that the centering sleeves are correctly positioned. Clean sealing surfaces, replace gasket.
9. Finally, bleed the cooling system and check for leaks (see chapter Vehicle settings and routine maintenance).
Models with M67 engine
1. Remove the lower protective casings of facing of the engine and a transmission.
2. Remove the engine top cover and fan shroud (see Section Removal and installation of a casing of the fan).
3. Remove the vibration damper (see chapter Engine).
4. Disconnect the vacuum hose (1), disconnect the connector (2) control valves, open the clamp (3) and disconnect the connector (4) from a double thermal switch.
5. Turn out bolts (1) and take the block (2) control valves to the side.
6. Press out the water hose clamps (1 and 2), disconnect them and set aside.
water hose
7. Turn out bolts of fastening of the water pump.
Water pump mounting bolts.
8. Carefully remove the water pump in the direction of the arrow.
9. Turn out bolts (1) and reset the thermostat (2) for a new water pump.
When installing, replace the thermostat o-ring.
10. Disconnect the tube (1) cooling system and rearrange the dual temperature sensor (2) for a new water pump.
When installing, replace the O-rings in the pump body and on the temperature sensor.
11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. To avoid damaging the new seals, carefully slide the water pump onto the tongue (1). Pay attention to the position of the clamp (2).
12. Pay attention to the different length of the water pump mounting bolts.
13. At the end of the installation, fill the cooling system and bleed it (see chapter Vehicle settings and routine maintenance).
Models with M73 engine
1. On the bank of cylinders 1-6, remove the one-way valve of the emission control system (see chapter Exhaust systems).
2. Remove heat shields from the left side of the front axle beam.
3. Turn out a stopper for drain of a cooling liquid from the left side of the block of cylinders.
4. Blow the coolant (see chapter Vehicle settings and routine maintenance).
5. Remove expansion tank (see Section Removal and installation of a broad tank).
6. Remove the fan shroud (see Section Removal and installation of a casing of the fan).
7. Remove the K/V compressor drive belt (see chapter Engine).
8. Remove the bolt, disconnect the coolant pipe from the water pump and remove the pipe.
9. Loosen the clamp and remove the sleeve.
10. Open the bracket (1) and remove the coolant supply hose to the radiator expansion tank.
11. Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor wiring connector.
12. Remove the fan impeller.
13. Remove the bolts and remove the coolant pump drive belt pulley (see illustration).
14. Remove the vibration damper (see chapter Engine).
15. Open the bracket (1) fasteners and remove the bleed hose, loosen the hose clamp on the water pump.
16. Turn out bolts of fastening (see illustration).
17. Screw three bolts into specially designed threaded holes and evenly wring out the water pump from the engine.
18. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Replace o-rings.
