2. Install the engine in the mounting position as described in Section Removal and installation of the oil pan in Chapter Engine.
3. Remove the steering gear from the front suspension beam without disconnecting the power steering lines (see Section Removal and installation of the steering gear with power steering).
4. Remove the engine crankcase protection and disconnect the left and right engine mounts from the front axle cross member (see chapter Engine). On the M57 engine, disconnect the left and right consoles from the front axle cross member.
5. Disconnect the left and right transverse suspension arms from the front axle beam.
When installing on the left and right side, install the washers (1), use new self-locking nuts.
6. Remove the pendulum arm.
When installing, use a new self-locking nut.
7. Remove heat shields and body reinforcements on the left and right sides. Disconnect the cable from the positive battery terminal. If necessary, disconnect the oil line from the front axle beam.
8. Remove an extension of the suspension arm.
When installing, install the washer (1) and use a new self-locking nut.
9. Disconnect the anti-roll bar from its rack. Give the nut and disconnect the tie rod from the steering arm and from the steering knuckle using puller No. 32 1 190.
When installing, use a new self-locking nut.
10. Turn out bolts from the left and on the right side and remove a beam of the forward bridge. Detach the stabilizer bar from the beam.
11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Upon completion of work, check the angles of the front wheels. When installing a new beam, the steering arm should be adjusted.
