Coolant Density Check

Before the start of the cold season, you need to check the coolant concentration, especially if water has been added to the cooling system.

Warm up the engine until the upper radiator hose is warm.

Carefully open the expansion tank cap.

Attention: Do not open the cover on a hot engine.

Type coolant into the hydrometer and determine its density (it is often stated in degrees of freezing point). The freezing point should normally be around -35°C. This corresponds to a 1:1 ratio of antifreeze and water in the coolant.
