The body of the BMW 7 Series is load-bearing. Body parts, side parts, roof and rear fenders are welded together. The front and rear windows are glued into the openings of the body. Major body damage repairs and glass replacements must be carried out in a workshop.
The hood, trunk lid, doors and front fenders are bolted on and can be easily replaced.
In addition to removing body parts, this chapter also describes the removal of interior parts such as seats and trim. Since many of these parts are secured with TORX bolts, you need to have a set of TORX wrenches and screwdrivers to work with them.
