Withdrawal
Pull the gear lever knob strongly upwards.
Disconnect the cover from the center console and remove from the gear lever.
Raise the car. Remove retaining clip -4- from underside of vehicle and pull out selector lever. Remove washers -5- on both sides of the stem.
Attach a trunnion key to the gear lever from below (e.g. BMW-251110) and turn the nut counterclockwise by 90°. Then press the spherical inserts upwards.
Disconnect the rubber boot from the body and the gearshift console and pull it up together with the switch. If equipped, loosen and remove the clamp on the gear lever vibration damper.
Installation
Lubricate the spherical bushings of the gear lever with grease "Kluber Polylub GLY 801".
Insert the shift lever together with the spherical bushings so that the protrusion or the arrow on the spherical bushing points towards the bearing journal, i.e. in the opposite direction of vehicle movement.
Press the bearing shells from above into the holder with a screwdriver so that the protrusions of the holder audibly fix them.
Insert the shift fork rod with washers into the shift lever. install the locking bracket. Lower the car.
Attach the rubber boot. At the same time, put the inner edge on the shoulder of the gear lever, and the outer edge on the cutout in the body.
Install vibration damper and secure with clamp.
Attach the cover to the lid.
Apply force and put the head on the gear lever.
