To avoid injuries and / or damage to the electronic ignition system, the following requirements must be observed when working on the electronic ignition system:
Wash the engine only with the ignition off.
Disconnect the battery completely for arc and spot testing.
Do not disconnect the battery, as well as the alternator and starter, while the engine is running.
When checking the compression, it is essential to remove the main relay -1- of the DME system in order to prevent the occurrence of ignition voltage pulses. (2 - DME system fuses). Compression check is set out here.
Disconnect the ignition wires only when the ignition is switched off.
Connecting and disconnecting instrument leads (crankshaft speed meter, ignition tester) only be carried out with the ignition switched off. Ignition output stage (high voltage winding, ignition voltage wires) must be loaded with a resistance of at least 4kΩ;. Spark plug tips must be connected.
Never start the engine with the ignition coil wire removed (terminal 4).
Cannot be connected to terminal 1 (-) ignition coil anti-interference capacitor and control pump. Do not connect terminal 1 of the ignition coil to ground or to "a plus" (+) battery. Thus, when additionally installing an alarm system, you cannot use the terminal 1 wire to block the engine start When heated to more than + 80°C (e.g. varnishing, steaming), do not start the engine immediately after the heating process.
Persons with a cardiac pacemaker should not work with electronic ignition systems.
