The fuel pump relay -2- is located on the relay holder in the luggage compartment on the right behind the trim above the battery. Its task is to provide the fuel pump with current. By disconnecting the battery, the relay interrupts the power supply to the pump when the engine speed pulses are no longer received with the ignition on (engine stalled).
When, to test the injection system, it is necessary to turn on the fuel pump without starting the engine, you need to remove the relay and connect terminal 30 with terminal B7b with a jumper with a diameter of 1.5 mm (in diesel engine terminal B7).
Caution: To test the fuel pump relay, the battery must be charged.
Check injection system fuse. The location of the fuses is indicated on the cover of the fuse box.
Remove the fuel pump relay.
Connect a jumper between terminal 30 and terminal B7b (in a diesel engine, terminal B7). Make sure that the sensitive contacts of the relay are not damaged. If the pump is running, replace the fuel pump relay. If the pump does not work, check the supply wires to the relay and the fuel pump, replace the damaged wire.
