Tightening the brake
The lever is self-locking. If the ignition key is in position 2, then the control lamp with the symbol will light up on the instrument panel "R" (refer to Section 1).
Release the brake
Pull the lever up a little, press the button and push the lever down.
The parking brake is designed only to hold a stationary vehicle from spontaneous movement and acts on the rear wheels.
If, as an exception, you have to use the parking brake while driving, then do not tighten it with great force. In this case, keep the button on the lever pressed at all times. Sudden application of the parking brake can cause the rear wheels to lock up and cause the vehicle to skid.
When the parking brake is applied, the brake lights do not light up.
Vehicles with manual transmission: When parking on steep roads, apply the parking brake, as engaging first gear or reverse gear under certain circumstances is not enough to prevent the vehicle from moving away unintentionally. Cars with AT: move the AT lever to position P.
To avoid corrosion when climbing at low speed to a traffic light, lightly tighten the parking brake lever from time to time, if, of course. this allows the traffic situation.
