A defective injector can also be identified by loosening the union nuts of the distribution tube in succession at high idle. If the engine speed does not change after unscrewing one of the union nuts, the corresponding injector is defective. Injectors are checked with a pressure gauge (service station work).
The first signs of malfunctions in the operation of the injectors appear as follows:
- misfiring
- knocking in one or more cylinders
- engine overheating
- engine power reduction
- excessively strong black exhaust
- increased fuel consumption
Withdrawal
Thoroughly clean the injection pipes,
Disconnect the injection pipes in the kit, for which unscrew the union nuts with a wrench, for example HAZET 4550.
Attention: Do not change the bend of the tubes.
Remove the injector nozzles with a 27 mm wrench, e.g. HAZET 4555.
Installation
Be sure to install new heat shields between the cylinder head and injectors. The washer is installed with the recess upwards, the arrow points to the cylinder head.
Screw in the nozzle and tighten to 40±5 Nm.
Install injection pipes. Tighten cap nuts to 20±5 Nm.
