Removal and installation of the instrument panel

On BMW 5 Series vehicles, the instruments are assembled on the instrument panel. After removing the instrument panel, individual instruments or lamps can be removed.

Withdrawal

Disconnect the wire classes from the battery.

Remove steering wheel.



Loosen the upper securing screws -arrows- of the instrument panel and pull out the instrument panel a little.



Pull the instrument panel sideways out of the dashboard, then tilt it forward and pull it out.



When pulling the combo connector out of the dashboard, first pull latch 1 out of the combo connector and then disconnect the connector.

Installation

Connect all connectors to the instrument panel. In this case, the locking levers must be raised. Secure the combo connector with the latch.

Insert the instrument panel into the dashboard and secure with two screws.

Connect ground wire to battery.

Check the electrical function of the instrument panel.
