Cable connectors

The BMW 5 Series features a new 2.5 mm round connector system for maximum operational reliability. The connectors have swivel or sliding latches, and are partially waterproof.

Press the metal retaining clip down before removing type 1 to 4 connectors (Drawing W - 5421). When connecting, snap the bracket into place.

On some sockets (5 and 6) put on the rubber protective cap.

Most of the connectors in the cabin are type 10 connectors. When disconnecting, both clips must be compressed.

Positions 12 to 19 are round connectors, which are used for example in a lambda probe or wiring harness in the front bumper. To disconnect, screw in knurled screw 14.
