Withdrawal
Remove the rear wheel brake caliper.
Remove securing bolt -arrow- with a 5 mm open end wrench.
Fully release the parking brake.
Remove brake disc. If the brake disc cannot be removed, spread the parking brake pads.
Installation
To ensure uniform braking on both sides, the surfaces of both discs must be the same in surface finish and finish. Therefore, perform simultaneous replacement or processing of both disks.
A service station can check the runout of the discs. Maximum lateral runout (in position): 0.2 mm.
Measure the thickness of the disk.
Clean new discs with nitro thinner to remove protective varnish.
Slide the brake disc onto the wheel hub and secure with the bolt. Pre-turn the brake disc so that the bolt holes match.
Install brake caliper with brake pads inserted. Do not tighten or kink the brake hose while doing this. Check the freedom of movement of the brake hose when turning the steering wheel from lock to lock.
Fasten the brake caliper with a tightening torque of the bolts of 120 Nm. Coat the bolt threads with engine oil first.
Attention: If the brake hose is loosened, the brake system must be bled.
Place the wheel in compliance with the marked position of the disk on the hub. Lower the car and cross. Tighten wheel bolts to 110 Nm.
Caution: With the vehicle stationary, depress the brake pedal several times until you feel resistance.
Check the brake fluid level in the expansion tank, top up if necessary up to the MAX mark.
Run in new brake discs.
Phase
- 1: 5 hard stops at 50 km/h on a road with little traffic.
- 2: Let the brakes cool down.
- 3: 5 more hard decelerations at 50 km/h.
