Required travel speed from approx. 40 km/h, can be maintained and set automatically.
1 - ACCELERATION
Slightly press the lever - the speed of movement at the moment the lever is pressed is stored during further movement and is remembered. Each subsequent touch of the lever increases the speed by approximately 1 km/h.
Press the lever and hold it in this position - the car accelerates without pressing the accelerator pedal. The speed of movement at the moment of releasing the lever is stored during further movement and is remembered.
If the recorded speed has been exceeded by more than 10 km/h for more than 1 minute, then the speed maintenance mode is interrupted and must be activated again.
On BMW 525tds and vehicles equipped with stability control and traction control (ASC+T), the cruise control is interrupted and must be restored again after the recorded speed has been exceeded by 16 km/h or underestimated by 8 km/h.
2 - SLOW DOWN
Press and hold the lever in this position - if you were moving at a fixed speed, then the car slows down due to the automatic reduction of fuel supply. The speed of movement at the moment of releasing the lever is stored during further movement and is remembered.
On BMW 525tds and vehicles equipped with automatic stability and traction control (ASC+T), the vehicle decelerates due to automatic fuel reduction The driving speed at the moment the lever is released is stored during further movement and memorized.
Lightly press the lever - if you have already moved at a fixed speed, then each subsequent touch on the lever reduces the speed by approximately 1 km / h. On BMW 525tds and vehicles equipped with automatic stability and traction control (ASC+T), the speed is stored and memorized. Each successive touch of the lever reduces the speed by approximately 1 km/h.
3 - RESTORING LAST SPEED
Briefly press the lever from the end - the speed entered into the memory for the last time is reached again and is stored during movement.
4 - OFF
Lightly press the lever - speed control is deactivated regardless of driving conditions and traffic situation.
In addition, automatic cruise control is automatically deactivated when the ground decelerates more than 1.5 m/s2 compared to the set one, for example, on slopes, when braking and engaging the clutch or shifting the automatic transmission lever from position D to position N.
When stopping:
Do not enable automatic speed control if:
- roads abound with sharp turns;
- heavy traffic does not allow movement at a constant speed;
- the road is slippery (snow, rain, ice) or the road surface is not firm enough (stones, sand).
