BSK panel:
1 - signaling device for the health of the stop lamps; 2 - signaling device for the serviceability of the side light lamps in the rear lights; 3 - signaling device for the health of the license plate lights; 4 - signaling device for the serviceability of low-beam headlights; 5 - liquid level indicator in the windshield washer reservoir.
On the BSC panel, signaling devices are located in the following order:
- 1st row (top down): brake light warning lamps (8REMSLICHT), serviceability of side light lamps in the rear lights (RCCKUCHT), serviceability of license plate lights (KENNZEICHENLICHT);
- 2nd row (top down): dipped beam headlight lamps (ABBLENDLICHR), fluid level in the windshield washer reservoir (WASCHWASSET), coolant level (KCHLWASSER);
- 3rd row (top down): oil level indicator (MOTOROL), backup signaling device, self-control key BSK (TEST).
The principle of operation of the BSC
At the position «1» ignition key, all indicator lights come on. When the level of oil, coolant or liquid in the windshield washer reservoir is low, the corresponding indicator lights up.
At the position «2» the ignition key, all the inscriptions of the indicators of the CHECK CONTROL display light up in the instrument cluster, it lights up with yellow flashing light and the brake light indicator lights up (BREMSLICHT). Before turning the key to position «2» do not press the brake pedal, otherwise the BSC will not be able to check the serviceability of the stop lamps. After pressing the brake pedal, the CHECK CONTROL display and the brake light indicator go out.
To check the serviceability of the dipped beam headlights before the trip. tail light bulbs or license plate lights, start the engine and move the appropriate switch or switch to the ON position. If there is a malfunction in any of the indicated circuits (blown fuse or bulb), the corresponding indicator is displayed.
To test the brake light circuit (to make sure the fuse or bulbs are not blown) press the brake pedal: this will turn off the CHECK CONTROL display, the indicator labels and the stop lamp health indicator, but only if the corresponding circuits are working.
If the BSC detects malfunctions in the controlled circuits while the car is moving, the CHECK CONTROL display lights up with yellow flashing light, all the inscriptions on the BSC panel are displayed, and the corresponding or corresponding indicators light up.
The performance of the indicators is checked by pressing the TEST key, and the indicators should light up. After releasing the key, only indicators remain lit, in the circuits controlled by which there is a malfunction, the CHECK CONTROL display goes out. After a while, the inscriptions on the BSC panel go out.
After turning the ignition key to position «ABOUT» previously lit indicators of faulty circuits go out. Faults detected by the BSC in monitored circuits are stored. At the position «1» key and turning on the outdoor lighting, the corresponding indicators light up again.
