Loosen the nut securing the brace to the suspension arm.
Disconnect the suspension arm from the cross member, then disconnect the brace from the suspension arm.
Cut the safety wire and remove the nuts securing the telescopic suspension strut to the lower support.
Working from inside the lower telescopic strut mount, unpin and remove the ball joint stud nut, then press the stud out of its socket with a Kukko puller.
Check the condition of the rubber-metal hinges of the suspension arm and the height clearance of the ball joint pin, which should be no more than 1.4 mm. If it is larger, replace the control arm assembly.
Pressing out and pressing in rubber-metal joints of the suspension arms is carried out using tool 6011 with two coupling cups and a central threaded rod. Lubricate the new joint with soapy water or glycerine to make it easier to press in the new joint.
Installation of the suspension arm is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- at each removal, replace the self-locking nuts securing the brace to the suspension arm and securing the suspension arm to the front axle crossmember. Reuse of these nuts is prohibited;
- lock with wire three nuts for fastening the lower support of the telescopic suspension strut;
- the support washer, placed under the nut for attaching the brace to the suspension arm, must be installed with its convex side to the rubber-metal hinge.
