Chapter 2B includes a description of the work associated with the removal of the engine-transmission unit (power block) from the machine, and the main types of repair of the head and cylinder block, as well as other engine systems.
It provides a variety of information, ranging from advice on preparing for repairs, ending with a step-by-step description of the procedures for disassembling, removing, checking the condition, rebuilding, assembling and installing internal systems and engine devices.
Starting with paragraph 5. all instructions assume that the engine has been removed from the vehicle. Refer to chapter 2A or 26 and paragraph 5 of this chapter for information regarding repairs without removing the engine from the machine, as well as the removal and installation of engine attachments, including those requiring repair. Skip all preparatory operations described in chapters 2A or 26 if they were already performed when the engine was removed from the vehicle.
With the exception of tightening torques, which are given at the beginning of chapters 2A and 26, all technical data regarding engine repair are given at the beginning of this chapter.
