2. The tensioner is activated when the force of the frontal collision exceeds the preset value. The system does not respond to smaller efforts, as well as to blows from behind,
3. At the moment the system is activated, a spiral spring is compressed inside the tension mechanism and blocks the seat belt through the cable drive. This prevents the seat belt from stretching and making it impossible for front seat passengers to move. Once the mechanism has been deployed, the seat belts remain locked and require replacement of the mechanism to unlock them.
4. When working inside a vehicle, there is always a risk of the system being triggered. To prevent accidents due to unintended operation of the system, always disconnect the negative battery cable when servicing the seats or seat belts (see chapter 5A) and wait at least 5 seconds before continuing.
5. Read the following warnings carefully before servicing the front seat belts.
Attention! If the tensioning mechanism has worked, it must be replaced, even if the operation was accidental.
- Keep solvents out of the tension mechanism.
- Protect force from impacts, as this may cause the belt tensioner to operate.
- Make sure that there is no deformation of the outer parts of the tensioner and brackets. Replace defective parts.
