Opening and closing windows
After turning the ignition key to position 1:
If you press the switch without going beyond the point of increased resistance, the glass will move for the entire time the switch is held down.
By briefly pressing the switch with the transition beyond the point of increased resistance, the start-stop mode is activated, in which the glass moves automatically. To stop it, you need to press the switch again in the same way.
Similarly, the window is closed by pulling the switch.
When the rear doors are equipped with power windows*, separate switches are installed under the windows.
After switching off the ignition:
You can still use the power windows for 15 minutes if none of the front doors is opened and then closed again. To open, press the switch beyond the high resistance point.
Always take the ignition key with you when leaving the vehicle so that, for example, children cannot operate the power windows and injure themselves.
For information about automatic opening and closing of windows by turning the key in the door lock or using radio remote control, refer to Section Keys, single lock and anti-theft system.
Anti-pinch function
There is a contact strip* in the upper part of the window opening. If you touch it at the moment of raising the glass, the glass will immediately stop and lower slightly.
This feature can be disabled (e.g. when an unauthorized person attempts to enter the vehicle from outside), while holding the power window switch in the start-stop control position.
Fuse switch*
With it, you can prevent the power windows from being switched on from the rear seat, for example by children sitting there.
If there are children in the back seat, always press the safety button. Uncontrolled closing of the windows can lead to injury.
