Lid in the trunk floor
To secure the cover in the open position, lift it by the ring and fix it on the rubber seal of the gutter (as shown by the arrow in the illustration).
Trunk mat
If necessary, for example when carrying dirty items, you can turn the mat over. The rubberized side is easy to clean and prevents slipping of items placed on it.
There are special loops at the corners of the luggage compartment for attaching load-retaining nets* or tension straps that secure individual items.
See also Section Salon equipment.
Roof rack
A special roof rack is available as an optional extra. Follow the recommendations contained in the instructions for its installation.
When loading the trunk on the lid, the height of the center of gravity of the car increases, and therefore its dynamic qualities and handling significantly change.
Therefore, when loading, be careful not to exceed the load capacity of the luggage compartment, as well as the permissible limits for the gross vehicle weight and axle load. The relevant data can be found in the Specifications.
The load placed on the roof rack must be distributed evenly over it, with the utmost compactness. Heavy items should be put down.
Make sure that there is enough space to lift the sunroof and that the load placed on the trunk does not interfere with opening the trunk lid.
Proper and secure fastening of the stowed load will prevent it from shifting or falling off the vehicle on the move (posing a danger to vehicles moving behind you).
Drive the car should be balanced, avoiding jerks from a place, sudden braking and reckless cornering.
The luggage loaded on top increases the area of frontal resistance. As a result, fuel consumption increases and the load on the body increases.
