Caution: Spilled on rubber parts (water hoses) diesel fuel should be wiped off immediately with a damp cloth, as it corrodes these parts over time.
Water removal
Attach a suitable hose to drain nipple -1- with a diameter of 8 mm. Substitute a vessel.
Loosen bolt -2- on bottom side of filter by hand a few turns. If the bolt will not loosen, use pliers or a leather-sealed pipe wrench.
Drain about 200 cm3 of aqueous sediment until clean diesel fuel comes out. Tighten the water outlet bolt by hand.
Check the tightness of the power system. To do this, start the engine. After repeated delivery of gas through a transparent hose to the high-pressure fuel pump, fuel that does not contain air bubbles should flow.
Filter replacement
Drain the sludge from the filter as you would when removing water.
Unscrew the fuel filter from the filter flange by hand or, if it is firmly seated, with a tightening wrench, for example from HAZET 2170.
If there is no tightening wrench, unscrew 2 bolts and remove the filter with flange. Fix the flange in a vise. First unscrew the supply and output fuel hoses. In addition, disconnect the connectors of the filter heating element and the filter water level sensor.
Fill the new filter to the brim with diesel fuel and screw it on by hand.
Attention: Do not overtighten the filter. After the gasket is in contact with the flange, tighten another ½ turn. Follow the instructions written on the filter.
If necessary, install the filter flange and connect both connectors.
After a test drive, check the tightness of the power supply system.
