By squeezing and bending the coolant hoses, check for cracks on them, replace hardened hoses.
The hoses must be pushed deep enough into the fittings.
Check the fastening of the hose clamps.
Check the integrity of the gasket of the radiator cap and expansion tank.
If the fluid level drops and the leak cannot be found, check the cooling system with a hot engine. To do this, warm up the engine and leave it to idle until the fan turns on. Check for fluid leaks around the water pump.
If coolant leaks out of the bottom hole of the water pump on a hot engine, a blown oil seal is usually the cause. In this case, repair or replace the water pump.
Meanwhile, it is quite difficult to find the place of the leak. In this case, it is recommended to have the engine pressure tested at a workshop (special installation required). At the same time, the lid drain valve is also checked.
