The clearances in the valve drive mechanism are adjusted by slightly opening the cylinder valves.
Clearances in the valve drive mechanism
The normal clearance in mm between the eccentric and the end of the valve stem, measured with a feeler gauge on a cold engine, is for intake and exhaust valves:
- «315», «316» (before MY 1980), «318», «320», «3201»: 0,15-0,20;
- on «316» (from model year 1981): 0,20±0,025;
- on «3181»: 0,20-0,25.
